The Perfect Search needs a lot of input from you and your users, that's why the advanced settings are here!

In the advanced settings you can set all your custom search terms, synonyms and even quick links! We'll go through all the settings of course! πŸ˜„

πŸ” Custom search terms

Custom search terms are a bit different than the synonyms, because you can enter your own search terms and link products here! This is useful if you know which search terms are often used and, for example, load the wrong products or not at all. Activate the custom search terms by putting the check active.

Have you done that? Nice! Then click on 'Getting started'

After clicking on 'getting started' you will be taken to the advanced search terms page, where you have an overview of all your custom search terms and can adjust them.

Click on 'add rule' to add a new custom search term.

After you click on 'add rule' this popup will open.

Under the option 'Advanced search' you can enter your search query, for example 'Gaming laptop'.

Then you can add your products and exclude them if necessary (if the term occurs in a product that has no connection to this). This way the customer can find all laptops suitable for gaming, instead of searching for the products, read the specifications yourself and think about whether the product is suitable for gaming. Also all laptops are shown which are linked, so the customer doesn't have to search for a brand and model number!

You can also follow these steps for the Categories, Pages, FAQs and Blogs! So this way you can customize the entire search to your liking! πŸ˜„

Tip: Keep an eye on the 'Analytics' section to see which search terms don't get any results, this way you can still show these search results!

πŸ” Synonyms

Synonyms, oh how they are missed in the standard search function of Lightspeed. Fortunately, The Perfect Search can do this! Through the synonym settings you can create the synonyms of search terms! Useful if you know which search terms are often misspelled and for example load the wrong products or none at all. Activate the synonyms by putting the check active.

Have you done that? Nice! Then click 'Get started

After clicking 'Get started' you will arrive at the synonyms page, here you have an overview of all your synonyms and you can edit them.

Click on 'Add synonym' to add a new custom search term.

After you have clicked on 'Add synonym' this popup will open. Here we are immediately faced with 2 options, it is important to choose, which option fits best for your synonym?

πŸ” Synonym set

Synonym sets are keywords/synonyms that may all show the same results.

As an example: The customer searches for the term 'PC'. For this, the words 'Computer and Desktop' may then show the same results. However, if the customer then searches for 'Desktop', for example, the results of 'PC' and 'Computer' will also be shown!

πŸ” Unique synonyms

Unique synonyms are useful to direct customers to certain products. So this one doesn't work 'backwards' as they say so nicely!

As an example: The customer searches for the term 'Tablet', then it can be set that the search results load 'iPad', 'Samsung tablet', 'Xiaomi tablet', etc.

However, if the customer searches on 'Samsung tablet', then it will not display search results for 'iPad', 'Xiaomi tablet' and 'tablet'

πŸ” Quick links

Quick links are useful to lead the customer directly to certain pages, this way the customer can easily and quickly go to service pages for example if he is looking for the information about the return policy.

Activate Quick links by setting the check box active.

Have you done that? Nice! Then click on 'Getting started'

After clicking 'Getting started' you will be taken to the quick links page, here you have an overview of all your quick links and you can edit them.

Click on 'Add redirect' to add a new quick link.

After you have clicked on 'Add a redirect' this popup will open. Here we can enter your quick link right away!

πŸ” Search Term:

Enter here the search term where the quick link should be visible, for example 'Return'.

πŸ” Title:

Enter the title of the quick link here, for example 'Return Policy'.

πŸ” URL:

Enter the URL of your page where the quick link should link to.

Everything set? Then click 'Create Redirect'.

The result is as follows:
