Multi-step checkout
This is the checkout that comes by default in your theme. At each step, data must be entered and/or certain options selected. When completing a step, your customers click Next to proceed to the next step of the process. It consists of five steps:
One page checkout vs one step checkout
Checkout on one page | One step checkout |
As the name suggests, the one-page checkout consists of a checkout where all data and options are entered on one page for the customer to scroll through. All details and steps are the same as with the multi-step checkout, except in the one-page checkout the customer does not switch pages after the customer clicks Next , but the system automatically scrolls to the next step on the page. | The one-step checkout is similar to the one-page checkout. As with the one page checkout, all steps are on one page. In the one-step checkout, these steps are not located one below the other but next to each other. By default, some steps have a “fade effect”, a gray haze over the steps that makes them fade into the background. Customers must first complete a step to move to the next step in the checkout, eliminating the “fade effect”. Clicking on Next after completing a step is therefore no longer necessary, the next step is automatically visible on the screen. |
